No FF/Rew or Pause option for shared network streaming video files!
This is a good BD player in general, but one of the main reasons for the purchase was for playback of shared video files on my network. They play fine, but you don't have an option to FF/Rew or Pause these files during playback. My other Samsung player does this without an issue. In contacting Samsung, they confirmed this is not an option on this model and offered no explaination or solution in sight. If this function is not an issue for you, then go for it. Otherwise, look for another purchase option. I'm waiting to hear back from Vanns to see if they will take it back in exchange for another model...

Slow, freezes, and no resume play
Bought this at Costco, and three months later am very disappointed. First, the unit is very, very slow. Often, it takes a few minutes to load and start playing a DVD or BluRay disc. Sometimes, the player gets stuck and must be restarted to play a disc. Skipping previews or segments on the disc is very, very slow and often impossible. Second, the Netflix interface is not great. Even the Netflix interface on our Wii is significantly better than the BluRay. In fact, we bought a Roku to watch streaming content because we thought this unit was too slow and unpleasant to use. Third, there is no "resume play" feature. When you play a disc and stop it half way through a movie, the player cannot remember where you left off and simply begins the disc again from previews and leaves you at the initial menu. This is especially annoying when you have small children who only watch portions of movies at a time, and even more annoying when you want them to watch the movie in Spanish, which requires going through the initial setup every single time you push play. I'm returning this to Costco and getting a different brand.

Good++ with some quirks
I've been using this player for three months now. Overall, I'm pleased. The setup was pretty straightforward and software updates installed without a problem. The network connection is hardwired to my router. DVD and Blu-Ray quality is very good and Internet streaming from my Netflix account is actually better quality than it was when I hooked up my Vista based laptop using the same HDMI connection. There are a few drawbacks. First, is that the machine will occasionally hang when trying to access a Netflix movie. This is probably due to my Internet connection (10Mbps/5Mbps) being congested, but the problem is that there is no way to back out of the connection screen without turning the player completely off and then back on. Very occasionally, the player will reconnect during playback and throttle down to a lower quality. Again, probably due to Internet congestion. Luckily that does not happen very often.

Second, the machine will hang if I insert a DVD before it is completely booted. The DVD will start to play and get as far as the FBI warning screen or so and then stop. The remote becomes unresponsive. Again, the only way around is to remove the DVD, restart the machine and insert the DVD after it is completely started and the main menu is onscreen. I've learned to let the machine boot before inserting the disk.

Third, when accessing Netflix, I will sometimes have to re-activate the machine. I don't know if this is a glitch on the Samsung or at Netflix, but it means running to my computer to re-enter the activation code. Slightly annoying. This has happened maybe four times in three months.

Finally, navigating the net is agonizing using the remote and the simulated cell phone keypad. You have to use the arrow keys to navigate the onscreen keypad and then tap for the right letter. Maybe someone who does a lot of texting won't mind this, but I found it to be excruciating and it limits the usefulness of other features like YouTube videos. Searching for a favorite video is just too slow and inaccurate. The ability to attach a Bluetooth keyboard would be a great feature. Maybe that's reserved for a higher price point.

I use this machine almost exclusively for DVDs and to access my Netflix instant queue and for that it works very well, if you follow its protocols. For the price, I'm pleased not to have to hook up my laptop and to have a remote to pause/play instant movies.

No Apple Support, no Hulu Plus
I have a Samsung plasma TV, and bought this player because it integrates incredibly well with it using a nice single remote. Very happy.

BUT the built-in PC connection is only for Windows computers. No love for Apple owners. So a big piece of functionality stares at me, unusable, because Samsung doesn't play at all with Apple. Very unhappy.

AND this player does play some digital content, like Netflix, very nicely. BUT It does not play the new Hulu Plus. For that you need a Samsung 3D player, even though Hulu is not 3D. Double extra unhappy.

Don't waste your money
After I got this, I wish I hadn't. I had to configure the player in order to play DVDs, a feature that should have been set before I opened the box. Worked fine for a few months after that, but then started acting up. The player makes a whining noise while playing many DVDs and BDs, but not all. It also beeps and makes awful noises through the speakers when the disc tray is open. And it started turning subtitles on by itself and the only way I could turn it off is by shutting down the player then opening and closing the disc tray.

Samsung in general has been going down in quality over the past few years. If I were you, I would buy a different brand.

Powerful New Microarchitecture Eliminates Slowdown
The i7 family is Intel's flagship processor, and for good reason. With the i7 family, Intel engineers invented a revolutionary new style of microarchitecture. They replaced the front side bus--a longtime staple of processor design--with a new technology called QuickPath Interconnect (QPI). Using QPI, the Intel Core i7-930 processor achieves unprecedented levels of bandwidth, and can use its four computing cores to their maximum potential.

To put it simply, users will enjoy faster and more streamlined processing than ever before. Your computer will handle multiple projects and applications without the slowdown you'd experience with a lesser processor.

Extremely intensive programs like high-definition media editors will run more smoothly and responsively. And you'll be able to experience next-generation games without frame-rate hiccups and slowdowns.

New Technologies Boost Performance
The Intel Core i7-930 processor also makes use of several other cutting-edge technologies:

  • Turbo Boost Technology allows the processor to run up to 133 MHz faster when it's operating below power/thermal limits.
  • Hyper-threading Technology enables more efficient use of processor resources, making the most of highly threaded software like media players and next-generation games.
  • Smart Cache Memory increases available RAM resources, leading to less lag while multi-tasking.
Media Editing and Sharing Easier than Ever
Whether editing high-definition videos, touching up family photos, or splicing up music, the Intel Core i7-960 processor provides the processing power needed. The processor's four cores are optimized to keep up with the most advanced digital editing software. It also accelerates DVD encoding and compression, allowing you to easily share your HD home videos with everyone.

Unparalleled Gaming Performance
With the advent of next-generation games, PC gaming is more immersive than ever. The latest games take advantage of multi-threaded programming, allowing for more realistic graphics, physics, and artificial intelligence (AI). But you need more than just a good graphics card with high GPU output to fully experience all these effects. Underlying the visual realism and advanced AI scripts are thousands of high-speed calculations that your CPU must process.

Fortunately, the Intel Core i7-930 processor is specifically designed to handle these calculations. Using multi-thread architecture, it has the ability to process thousands of graphical characteristics at once, resulting in a smooth and lag-free experience. Intel worked closely with CryTek -- the developers of the advanced game engine behind such games as Crysis and Far Cry -- to guarantee that gamers have an immersive and lifelike experience.

The Intel Core i7-930 processor is backed by a three-year limited warranty.

Awesome Processor
cutted my rendering time from 1 hour to 8 minutes great thing rendering 4k videos in no time just awesome!

Great Deal!!
When the Core i7's first came out I had the Core 2 Quads and was not sure about making the change. First the price to enter was too high and I was happy. I then switched over to the Core i7860 which I did see a greatly imporved performance! I do not use the Turbo Boost feature as I want to make sure that everything is running on full power all of the time.

Once I read about the 930 and I saw the cant's miss price if picked up locally, I did the math and jumped on it! I sold my 860 part AND picked up an extra 4GB's RAM all at no extra cost to me!! Is there a difference between to two? Yes. First, the 930 comes in a much larger box as the fan is larger. The chip is physically larger than the 860 as well. Is it faster? Yes, but I am not sure if it is because of the extra RAM or if it is just faster. If could be due to the QPI and extra RAM bandwidth as well. It is faster and worth the upgrade.

I used a Gigabyte socket 1156 before with USB 3.0 but I could not use it without sacrificng my PCIe 16 lane thing. With this chip, you CAN use all of the newst features without worries! You can even do full speed SLI or Crossfire (I have not tried it and may not until video editing software uses them) as well.

The swap was the easiest MB transfer that I have ever done. Since the brands were the same, it was just a matter of taking it out and putting the new one in. I had a few issues in regards to drives, but Windows 7 found all except for the LAN and NEC USB drivers. This chip uses more power, but my PC is cool. I did a little test run on DVD encodes and I see a difference, but I did not truly put it through it's paces yet, but so far so good. 12GB's of RAM is not a bad thing to have either...

UPDATE: I just did a defragmentation on 3 HD's. Normally I do five at a time and it could take an hour. All three (500GB or better, almost filled) took less than ten minutes with all but the most fragmented and largest (1TB) taking the longest! I would say that this is a big difference!

Also, Windows Index Experience rated my same SSD a 5.9 with the i7 860, now it is a 6.9! The graphics (with the same card and driver) jumped a point each to a 7.3, from 7.2. The CPU score remained the same at 7.4. After reading forums, I expected it to go t 7.5. Moving up a level makes a difference.

Fantastic CPU
Fantastic and great value CPU.
If you want to save money, check Micro Center online, they are selling this exact boxed model for 9.99 plus your local applicable tax. This is only in-store pickup, so check to see if there is a store near you.

Best value for a high-end pc right now
I've owned a i7-920 for a few years now and have enjoyed the speed, power, and value it has brought to my system. I've been custom-building PCs for about 15 years now and couldn't have been happier with that chip. However, I noticed that the i7-930 was on sale locally for a can't miss price, so I quickly picked it up and sold off my old 920. Now, I know that there is only a 140mhz difference between the two, but there's more to it than that. Most tech-enthusiast review sites have reported that the 930 can be a heavy overclocker; surpassing the 920 by quite a bit. If that's important to you, spend a few extra bucks and get this processor.

The Intel fan is ok - much better than the clangers that Intel provided in the past and it's relatively quiet. I'd still recommend that you also invest in a better fan/heatsink as I can't stress how important it is to keep your system cool...and QUIET. I just purchased a Zalman CNPS10x Quiet, which should drop the temp down 20C and should be whisper-quiet. I'll post a link to that review when I'm able to test it out.

My computer specs: i7-930, Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R mb, 6gb DDR3 ram, Nvidia 260 video card. According to the Win7-64 "Windos Experience Index", the cpu gets a 7.5, whereas the i7-920 got a 7.4. Not much of a difference, so consider that when looking at the prices between the two.

Powering Creativity
I chose the 930 because of it's price/performance balance. It can easily be overclocked to 4.0+ GHz and runs cool at stock speed. And the quad-core technology works great with my Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate OS. Go Intel or go home.

Should be cheaper for the quality of the TV
big cloud issue when play dark movies.
Internet is kinda useless. The Blu-ray player can do this work as well.
The corners have some light leaking issues

Epic TV
ok so this tv is the best tv ive ever seen in my life..... im sure that a hardcore tv nut might have something different to say but so far i can find no fault with the tv i gave it 3 stars for sound because i havent used the sound as i have surround sound i bought this tv "Used" from amazon and it was brand new when i got it it still have the plastic sticky stuff on the edges and it looked absolutly pristine i wont need another tv for years to come thank you samsung

Bad Service and internet
Although the main feature of the Samsung 3D TV, the 3D, is very good; its INTERNET@TV is useless. This feature was to be for connecting to Facebook, Picasa, Skype, Net Flex etc. Each of these services requests you to enter a password. Although difficult with the ten key input, the intent was that you do it only once was OK. The problem is that they upgrade the TV's software at least weekly as it is a new product. When they do this they remove all of the existing computer type date and put in new - that includes all the password data you may have installed. Your passwords are lost and you must start over. Their telephone staff is very courteous. They say thing like "I can understand your frustration," "understand the difficulty in reenter data," "is their anything else we can do for you today" etc. But they can not solve the problem. It a computer type programing thing. Their forwarding calls to tear 2 help resulted in two dropped calls and two calls not returned. The customer service is courtesy but no service provided. If you must buy these TVs, get them a COSTCO, they will refund your money, SAMSUNG will not; nor will they fix this defect.

It's a good TV, sound not so - Amazon was WONDERFUL!
I like the Samsung in general. The sound quality is not great - no room for room-facing speakers. I haven't used all the features yet (like the 3d), just got it installed - which was not easy. The screen really should NOT be touched. Even your fingertip will leave a mark and the cleaner sold at Frye's in Auburn, WA was .00. Samsung recommends water only, but I have a friend who damaged a flat screen trying to clean it, so be careful. I can't get the remote working well, sometimes the TV comes on and not the cable and vice versa. There must be a fix for that, but I don't know about it yet. We have some tiling in the picture every time we watch. We are shopping for a sound bar. This was our first big purchase through Amazon and the process and service was flawless. I would recommend Amazon to anyone and not just for books. We will be buying a sound bar from Amazon. Love them.

Great TV for price
Excellent TV especially for the sale price and promotioal offers that came with it. You will not be disappointed.

Experience Movies Like Never Before

The DMP-BD65 employs the PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus. Developed in collaboration with Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory, this high image processing technology reproduces clear, vivid colors that are faithful to the original film.

Panasonic's Blu-ray Disc players employ high precision 4:4:4 signal technology, which working in tandem with PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus processes each pixel of the Blu-ray Disc video signal in the horizontal direction to compliment vertical direction processing. P4HD (Pixel Precision Progressive Processing for HD) is another technology that contributes to the superior picture quality of the Blu-ray players. P4HD processes more than 15 billion pixels per second and applies the optimal processing to every pixel.

Panasonic's Blu-ray Disc players further utilize 16-level motion detection to categorize the image motion of each pixel into one of 16 levels; diagonal processing to detect diagonals and correct the pixels accordingly; 1080p up-conversion to up-convert content recorded in the 480i/p or 720p format to 1080p.

This Blu-ray Disc player also provides 1080/24p output, reproducing cinema images from a Blu-ray Disc and DVD in their original 24p form with no need for conversion--enabling you to enjoy cinema images in the same format used in cinema with a 1080/24p-compatible TV.

Complimenting the HD audio codecs, the BD65 Blu-ray Disc player features 96kHz surround re-master, a function that enhances the sound quality of CDs and other sources, and even improves the quality of the multi-channel audio data on Blu-ray Discs and DVDs.

Does everything I wanted well
This is an excellent machine. However, there are a couple of things you should know. First, it does not have an output for a digital audio cable. It uses only an optical cable for digital sound output. If your receiver doesn't have an optical input you won't get surround sound. Of course it has the red/white cable outputs for stereo. Second, if you don't plan to run an ethernet cable from your router or computer, then you should be looking at the BD85 which is wireless. In my case I had to run a 100 ft. wire from upstairs, to under the house and across, and drill four 5/8 inch holes in walls and floors. It was a dirty job, but worth it to be hard-wired. You can buy 100 ft. of ethernet CAT6 cable on this site for under . I use both NETFLIX streaming video and PANDORA radio frequently. Pandora is now up and running with the new Panasonic software update, which is very easy to get.

While it is always easy to pick at little things (for instance, subtitles takes about 4 or 5 button pushes on the remote, whereas on my old Panasonic DVD player it has a dedicated button). Nevertheless, I am tickled pink with my purchase. I have a 50 inch Panasonic plasma TV, and both Blu-Ray and upscaled DVD look great! Online Netflix movies are much sharper than I expected, with the HD movies living up to the designation. I also have no trouble getting 5.1 sound. In fact, it is the best I have ever heard from my system.

Great Seller
Super fast delivery. The Blu-ray is in great condition for a refurbished and everything functions great so far. I highly recommend this seller. 2 thumbs up!!!

I only have one complaint...
Why why why why why why did Panasonic put the USB connection in front of the machine? This makes absolutely no sense to me at all--the adapter is big and ugly and in the way. One would think that the Panasonic engineers could have thought to place a USB connection in the rear of the machine, but I guess that was too obvious. Otherwise, it's a great machine (especially since it came free with my TV!).

Perfect Entertainment Hub
I needed a player that would stream Netflix and Amazon VOD (this one does both) and decode all the latest Blu-Ray audio formats since my receiver accepts HDMI, but doesn't decode the latest and greatest audio formats. I have never owned a Blu-Ray so I wasn't sure what to expect from an under 0 player. To sum it up: Awesome! I'm not sure what the higher priced players get you, but this one completed our media room perfectly! We output this player to a Epson 8500UB projector and the picture is amazing.

My Pros:
-The Amazon VOD service is very well done. After linking the player to my Amazon account, the movie ordering process was just like ordering a pay-per-view on cable/satellite. The picture wasn't as sharp as a true BD disk, but I wasn't expecting to get 1080p from streaming. The stream had a few stops and starts, but I think that is a result of Amazon's service since it doesn't happen on Netflix.

-The Netflix service preformed just as well as the Amazon VOD, but I was disappointed to only get the "Instant Queue" selection instead of full selections (I guess I'm spoiled by the XBox 360 interface).

-The instruction booklet made it clear on how to set up the player to output the newer audio formats via HDMI to my older receiver; very helpful!!

-Panasonic has released two updates since my purchase (6/9/2010). It's nice to know they are still working to make it better.

-When the unit is doing something (loading, downloading, etc) it's very good at letting you know that it's working and you need to give it a moment and isn't just hung up.

-The Quick Boot (I think that's what it's called) is neat, but uses more power. The boot up time is really short even without the Quick Boot turned on.

-I does require a 1gig or larger SD card for BDLive stuff, but the slot for it is hidden under a front cover, so the player stays neat and clean looking on the front.

My (minor) Cons:
-The remote is sometimes confusing. I find myself trying to get back to the main menu of the Blu-Ray and accidentally stopping the film altogether and getting sent to the system menu. This is more than likely a case of user error and I need to go back and reread the manual.

-Loading time for a movie with a always on internet connection is a little long sometimes. We have a 18mbs connection, so I know download speed is not an issue. I think that's more of the studio's fault for cramming so much interactive stuff on the discs.

I highly recommend this player, and am actually thinking about getting another one for our living room. Hope this review helps!

Excellent picture quality & netlfix
This panasonic blu-ray player does what it claims to do and does it well. And offers Netflix through the network connection. I had a previous Panny blu-ray player, about 6 months old, and it worked great too, but I required the Netflix option - so I guess this purchase was an upgrade. I don't know why people want to spend any more on a blu-ray player than this, the pic quality is superb and the sound is great and movies have never looked so good on my Panasonic plasma HDTV. An excellent choice. BTW, make sure you have an internet connection (plug into the internet w/ an ethernet cable) so you can obtain the firmware updates.

Customer Reviews

Works without flaw.
This keyboard and mouse was installed on my Windows 7 Dell desktop machine. It was a breeze to install and started working the instant the USB transmitter was plugged in. The transmitter is tiny and would work well for a laptop. The keyboard is a slightly compact size, but is easy for me to use with my fat fingers. The mouse is basic two button style, but works perfectly for what it is.

Overall I would recommend this setup to users in the market for a space saving mouse and keyboard that is east o setup and use.

Light, efficient and easy to use~!
Reducing wires not only reduces clutter but improves the general appearance of the desktop. This keyboard was simple to install, no fuss. It is nice and light, compact and has a streamlined style that should fit with most desktop set-ups. They advertise the low profile keyboard with crisp response and I agree. It is pleasant to use and I find myself making less mistakes for some reason. Overall a good deal for a quality product.

Excellent Product and Value
If you are looking to control your computer from a distance and at the same time want a keyboard and mouse that is light slim and stylish this combo is definitely for you.
I purchased it because my old laptop is now connected to my A/V receiver as well as TV and I wanted to flexibility of being able to check e-mails, watch Youtube, listen to Pandora and even do work from the comfort of my couch.
The keyboard is very light and slim just as advertised, fits perfectly on my coffee table. In addition it looks great unlike many other cumbersome sets. The only people it may not work for is for those who want dozens of programmable buttons and integrated volume controls, etc. The range is fantastic, I use mine at a distance of 8 to 15 feet, depends where I'm sitting and so far the keyboard has not missed 1 keystroke and the mouse works flawlessly. I even tested the range and found that up to a range of 27 - 30 feet the performance was outstanding, the beauty of 2.4 GHz. Connection was a snap, simply inserted the dongle into the USB and 30 seconds later was up and running. In addition saved - versus buying a comparable Bluetooth combo.
Value, Performance, Great Design, definitely would recommend it!

Comfortable for everyday use
I purchased this keyboard to connect to my Windows 7 computer which is connected to a 42" LCD in the family room. I have it sitting on the coffee table which is about 5-6 feet away from the computer and it works great. Haven't had any problems with it. I love the chicklet style keyboard. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Good keyboard, great value
Overall, a good value for a keyboard and mouse combination, especially with the current rebate being offered by Verbatim.

I have three issues with this keyboard. One is cosmetic -- the smooth piano-black plastic case attracts finger and palm print smudges! It stops looking new as soon as you feel the protective liners!

Two - the keyboard does not have adjustable height. I wish the back was raised by about another 1/4" or so to be truly comfortable for me.

Finally, the third and main issue -- Although the key action is good, the keys are noticeably stiffer than other keyboards. The keys require noticeably more typing force than on any other keyboards I regularly use around the house or at work.

During the first hours of using this keyboard, I didn't like it at all. It felt like my fingers kept slipping on the key caps, and my typing was affected by missing key presses. After several evenings of use, however, I have gotten mostly used to the keyboard, and my fingers don't feel like they are slipping anymore. I think this keyboard forces you to type more "vertically" (akin to manual typewriters, if you've ever used them!).

So far, I managed about 80 wpm on this, while I get 88 wpm on my favorite keyboard.

There are a couple of short-cut keys on this keyboard. The "My Computer" and "Calculator" keys are actually useful, and I like them.

The included mouse works fine. Same complaints about fingerprints and smudges, but otherwise a perfectly functional and reasonably comfortable mouse.
