Customer Reviews

It is not worth it...
I really wanted to like this tablet. I purchased thinking I could do basic functions, but I can't. The first tablet went back after 2 days because it got too hot and I could not hold it. It also developed a red dot on the screen. I received a replacement in 2 days (thank you Amazon), but the second is worst than the 1st one. I am trying to install skyfire and the tablet keeps telling me that does not have any space to download this application... its only 1.5 mb at this thing is supposed to be 8gb... I tried to update the firmware and the computer did not restarted after the upgrade, if was forced to press the reset button. Without skyfire I am unable to watch any youtube videos etc.
I am very upset with this electronic. I can't download anything, it is going back. Others could probably have better luck than me with this.

This is a very handy thing to have and easy to use.
I received my ARCHOS 7 Home Tablet one afternoon and put it on the charger. I didn't have time to read about the device so I just let it charge. The following morning my wife was going into the hospital for surgery and I knew I was going to be there the whole day so I took the tablet with me to "play" with. Even though I had read no instructions I turned it on, went through a few of the screens and saw the WIFI connection wizzard and hooked into the hospital guest connection. I did the same thing for my email account. I ventured out on to the web using some of the web addresses I could remmeber and Googling in some of the addresses I couldn't remember. I saved a bunch of the addresses into the bookmark and started surfing. It was great!!!! I had this little tablet that was doing all the things I would expect from a little laptop. I was checking and sending email, checking stock market activity, did some online banking. I watched a couple of the sample videos that came with the tablet and they were so clear. I really like this and will be using it a lot. I would have given it five stars but I found it went into a "force closing" on some of the internet sites and I couldn't figure out why that happened. It may just be user error.. time will tell. But even with that, it is a very nice device that I now look upon as a tool rather than a toy. I recommend it.

Good If It Fits Your Specific Needs
The low down: This is an attractive, functional device suitable for web browsing, email, and multimedia in a home environment. It features 8 Mb internal memory, microSD card capability, a beautiful screen, and the Android operating system. It lacks access to the full Android marketplace, has some odd design elements, and (in my experience) has a few quality issues. The device is worth the cost, if it fits your needs.

If you want more details, read on!

----------

I was excited to get this "home tablet". It is advertised as being suitable for a person who does not want the inconvenience of a PC / laptop, but needs more than a iPod or other small mobile device.

Design:

The device is made in France, and it shows in the design elements. It is beautifully made, with a satin steel backing, a large 7 inch wide-aspect screen (720p HD capable), and glossy plastic that somehow does NOT show fingerprints. However it also has some features that may be a bit odd to American consumers. For example, the device charges with a red light, but when charged the light turns YELLOW, not green as one would expect.

Archos decided to use a custom USB port, even though there is ample room for a standard mini-USB port. Perhaps it would have spoiled the look of the device. Whatever the reason, a standard port would have made replacing the cable easier.

The power system has some odd quirks. The supplied small power unit (with multi-national plugs) fits perfectly into the top round port on the side of the device. Unfortunately, that port is for the earphones! The power port is below the earphone opening; this works fine, but the power plug only goes in about 2/3 of the way, and falls out easily. When plugged in, the device powers on, instead of requiring the user to switch it on. I suppose this is useful in some cases, but it was annoying when all I wanted to do was charge the device - I had to wait for it to power up (about 20 seconds) before I could power it down!

Speaking of the earphone port, the included earphones work well and sound nice, but the length of the lines after they split off of the main wire is very short. The wires actually press into my throat a bit, and are almost too short to use. I would expect to buy an aftermarket headphone for this model.

The dual built in speakers are barely adequate, and I found them to sound somewhat tinny. OK for most uses, but not spectacular.

The device has a support stand to allow it to be propped up for viewing - using one leg. This is not terribly stable, and since the single leg is on the opposite side from the "menu" area of the device (upper right corner), it is pretty easy to have the unit come down smartly onto the table or whatever. Caution is advised when using it vertically.

The top of the unit sports an on-off-screen lock slide switch which is SHARP, and I don't mean nice looking. It comes to a point on the edge that the user will push, and is uncomfortable to use. There is an indent in the middle of the switch, so those people with fingernails will want to use it that way. Otherwise, be prepared for discomfort when sliding the switch either on or off (the switch has to be held against the force of the spring to function). Right next to the switch is the opening for the MicroSD card. When fully inserted, the card extends about 1/16 of an inch - just enough to make one hit that instead of the power switch. I have no idea why they didn't make it flush with the top surface.

The unit gets a bit hot on the bottom when charging, which you will do pretty often - I found the battery to last about 2 hours in most circumstances. You could listen to a lot of music if you switch off the screen, which consumes a lot of power. It gets a bit hot underneath when the unit is charging, a bit less hot when it is running, but nothing too uncomfortable.

The device has a resistive screen, which means that one has to push a bit hard to get a response. This is as opposed to the capacitive screen found in the iPhone, for example, which is requires less effort. I found that I had to swipe my finger a couple of times on many occasions to get a response. I don't know if this is due to slow computer response or the screen. It is sufficient for the needs of the device, but may bother some people.

The documentation was VERY minimal, just a few pages with some of the basics. It came nowhere near explaining how to use most of the features of the device.

Functionality:

The device runs Android, which is a Linux derived OS. It works well, but for someone coming from a Windows environment it will take some time to get used to. The home screen has three "windows" for holding icons; one swipes the finger left and right to go between screens. A small tab slides out to reveal the applications installed.

It plays media files well and synchronizes with the latest Windows Media player - so if you use the media player on your PC, your files will be transferred when you sync.

The web browser is a custom built offshoot of Google Chrome, and works OK but is a bit basic. I liked the way they offered a multi-window view of open pages.

The device includes access to the Archos "Applib", which has maybe 500 applications, and has a number of good games available for download, all free. Other applications are available but not as useful - they are pretty specific in nature. Some of the news programs were interesting, but one can get the same news (and more) off the Web. I found that the left hand side of the AppLib screen had what looks like tabs, but they only occasionally work. The Applib is being updated; I sometimes see new applications, recently including the Dolphin browser (a bit better than the stock one, but not so good as Skyfire).

Access to the internet is via WiFi only; no 3G or other capabilities. In some ways this limits the usefulness as a purchase, but it also means there was no need to design in any compromises found in a more mobile device. There is no GPS capability (hopefully you know where you live!).

There are some DRAWBACKS to the software:

There is no task manager, so I was unable to switch between running applications, unless they were the sort of applications that showed an icon on the top bar (some did, some didn't). The question became how to close those apps. One of the "AppLib" programs turned out to be an application that closed other programs. I used it frequently. But overall the device works pretty well.

The built-in file manager does not have a way to select multiple files, or any way I could figure out to create folders. One of the downloaded applications did have folder create functionality.

The built-in browser will not run flash, and there is no U-tube capability, so many websites would not show video or other content. It is possible to download the SkyFire browser, but one must do a Google search on "skyfire download to PC", because almost all websites refer the user to the Android Market to download - which won't work on this device. After that one can click on the download install package. Skyfire does render pages and videos well.

I found that many of the .wmv files downloaded from the web would not play on the device, even though they played on my computer. AVI files were fine. It will not play .rm files either. For music, MP3 files were fine.

I could not find a way to make the media files go to the mSD card besides manually copying each folder to the card. After that it is possible to refresh the media list and find the files. This is tedious, and there should be a way to default storage to either the internal memory or the external card.

The device does not use the latest Android version 2.x, and the CPU is basically adequate, not powerful. I had to wait a few seconds for some applications.

There is NO access to the tens of thousands of Android applications in the Android Marketplace, and I was constantly finding web sites that mentioned software that I could not download. This is the biggest problem with the device, in my opinion.

The 8 Mb internal storage is laid out such that there is a relatively small partition for the applications. One of my applications was leaving large temporary files in the applications file system, and the device warned me that I was low on memory. The internal memory was over 6 gigabytes - but not available to install programs! Anyway, there will be a hard limit to how many programs can be installed. But with only one "program" directory (accessed via a tab interface on the home screen), it would be cumbersome to scroll down to view the programs anyway. The device is designed such that one is expected to create shortcuts on the main desktop to frequently used programs.

The email was easy to set up, but only shows about 10 emails at a time before one has to view the next set. I used both IMAP and POP functionality successfully. I didn't seen any capability of Exchange email, but that would not be expected in a home device. The AppLib has an application called K-9 that fixes all the omissions. It supports exchange, but I did not test that.

Build quality:
The device is pretty heavy for its size, and appears to be solidly constructed. Nevertheless, my unit malfunctioned for a day - it continually brought up the screen to shutdown the device, even though the hardware switch was moving freely and not stuck. I had to use the small reset button on the back to power on the device if I had powered it off. Eventually it stopped doing this, and I was able to use the tablet. So I avoided warranty repair, but now I wonder what else might go wrong. UPDATE: My device kept acting strange, so I finally did a "hard" reset to factory conditions. This appears to have fixed the problems.

BOTTOM LINE:
Is this device worth the cost? Overall I would say yes, if you are looking for this sort of capability at home. I found it quite useful in checking emails and doing basic web browsing. I mostly use the web for shopping, online banking, and news sites, so it fits my needs. I'm not sure I would use it for movies, but for playing music it is nice.

A Glimpse of The Future?
First let me begin by saying this a good, but not great product. What it has done though is show me how I would use a tablet device and what features I would like or not like in a device, all without me feeling buyers remorse for what i paid.

Positive Attributes:
-Fairly Clean Standard Android User Interface
-Just Right Sized, Not Too Big, Not Too Small
-Great Battery Life Around 7+ Hours Surfing with WiFi
-Great Sound through Headphone Jack
-Plays Ripped DVDs Flawlessly
-Loads of Free Games for download around the internet

Negative Attributes:
-Somewhat Flakey Resitive Screen
-Builtin Speakers Sound Terrible
-A few Bugs that crop up every so often and require poking the reset button.

Overall I am really enjoying this tablet and think it will hold me over till the next generation of tablets make it to market. I mainly use it for general web surfing, basic games (not 3d), music listening/pandora at home and on the run and for these purposes it serves me well.

I did like it
I had been waiting for this for a while. I didn't want to spend too much money on a tablet and for the price and size the Archos 7 is perfect. If you are looking for something that will work like the Ipad this is not quite it, having said that everything the table is supposed to do like playing videos, music, pictures, reading books, ect. It does it quite well, and it only took me a few minutes to learn how to use it (even adjusting settings and installing apps) or loading media. I was looking for something that would give me a little more than an e-reader and this is exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately I retuned my Archos because there were several issues that I felt would not get resolved by simply exchanging the unit, because even though I'm not 100% sure from what I've been able to read, these problems may extend to more than one single unit. I really wanted to keep the Archos because I do like it a lot and because there isn't anything else out there to replace it with, I hope they come up with a better version of this tablet because I would buy it again.

Pros
1. Light weight, and the screen size nice
2. Screen is very bright and sharp, very good resolution (but very reflective during the day) some people said they had a problem with the responsiveness I didn't feel like that was an issue
3. The pre-installed apps worked very well I was able to watch videos, listen to music, and read books without having to install anything else.
4. Battery life is not bad if I had to guess it is about as much as stated on the description
5. The browser and AppsLib are pretty fast and the whole thing is easy to connect to a router.

Cons
1. The screen picks up a lot of glair during the day, not good for reading or watching a video outside during the day.
2. This version of Android does not support the Android market, even if you download some apps from a different place they may not work with this unit.
3. No flash player support, for what I've read there will probably not be any flash player on this item, unless Archos updates the OS which is not likely.( you can use the Skyfire browser but it is not an ideal replacement for flash.
4. One issues with the hardware is that, the unit gets pretty hot relatively quick while using it and very hot while charging it which can become uncomfortable.
5. My particular unit crashed with the first video I watched, I had to press the reset button to get it going again
6. If you watch HD videos (higher than 720 dip the sound doesn't sync well
7. It seems the tablet turns on by itself which kills the battery, and you cannot turn it back on even when plugged in, without pressing the reset button. The only reason I think it turned on by itself is that every time this happed the back of it was hot and I had not used it for several hours.

Customer Reviews

cross country trip
Our son and I took a trip from Phoenix to NYC, and a whole bunch of America in between. It was awesome! there were a couple occassions where there was so much going on with traffic and multiple exits, that it took me concentrating on the driving, and my son telling me exactly what the gps was directing us to do for us to get to our destination. it worked everytime. it will take you down roads you would probably never have taken on your own. while in wyoming, it asked me to turn down what looked like a single lane asphalt road. i kept on going straight, thinking perhaps because of the remoteness of the area, the gps got confused! nope - we followed the next turn it told us to take, and sure enough, that same road appeared to have been a "shortcut" that would have saved a short travel distance. we selected the "george w bush" voice, and it was funny to hear some of his phrases/word mispronunciations. it was a great trip, and the tomtom was a huge help in making it a success! very easy to see, so long as you set it at the right angle, and very easy to hear. this was a refurbished unit, so we saved a ton of money on a quality product.

outstanding performance in leading us to our desired destination!
we are absolutely satisfied with every detail regarding TomTom. we chose a female voice - call her Lucille. she takes us the shortest way to any desired location. absolutely pleased with the TomTom and wish we had purchased it earlier. Grandson commented that it was a great product.

great purchase!!!
GREAT GPS,EASY TO USE,GREAT PRICE,SUPER FAST SHIPPING,WORKS OK SO FAR,NO COMPLAINTS,I LOOKED OTHER BRANDS FIRST AND THIS WAS THE BEST CHOICE,THANKS AMAZON!!

tomtom5"
IT's pretty good As usual it can't find the simple stuff but give it some remote location and it will take you right to it in lightning speed. The screen size is helpful for the older crowd who don't see as well as we used to.

Great product.
The large screen and better detail make this a good buy. Map updates are easily done over the internet and they are fast. My only complaint is that the unit will not turn on with the key...you must manually turn it on...but it does turn off with out pushing the power button and offers a choice whether to stay on battery power. It shows more data on the screen than my past Garmin or Magellan units. It finds the satellites faster. You can change the voices quickly and download more comical voices off the internet if you like. The windshield mount is good. The touch large screen is nice for entering points of interest and locations...several style keyboards are included. The 3D display is easier to follow than my Garmin. I paid only 3 for a refrub unit. It came in a new box, and is in new condition with all the cables needed.

Customer Reviews

Everything I was looking for in a Flat Screen TV
TV came on time as advertised, set up was simple, and the picture is fantastic. The sound is okay, but I would expect most people will be using a home theater system so that should be a moot point. I am pleased with the purchase.

Great picture, but the buzz is awful!
The picture is gorgeous! As noted by tech review sites, the THX mode is definitely the most accurate and looks by far the best. The sound isn't awful through the TV, but I now have it running through my receiver, so that doesn't matter.

The Viera Cast Amazon on Demand works very well and the interface is actually better than my Roku when using Amazon. I have it wired through a Airport Express and it works like a charm without buying a single-purpose dongle from Panasonic.

The anti-glare screen coating works beautifully. The TV is on a wall with two large windows facing it and I can actually watch TV during the day for the first time without lowering the blackout shades. The bezel is really a very, very dark gray which is much more attractive that the usual piano black. Unfortunately, there are two problems with this TV that are proving hard to deal with:

1. The buzz on light colored scenes. There is a barely audible buzz on somewhat lighter scenes, but on truly light scenes it is loud enough to be heard over my newish central air conditioner and a pet fountain that is about 25' away from the seating area. Truly light scenes where the buzz is very predominant include the 1st season of Lost when they are on the beach or in the sun in the mountains, Crazy Heart when he is on the road with the sky and the NM desert around him and all of the ocean scenes in Pirates of the Caribbean. This is really disappointing. Not sure if this is fixable or not, if not it is a deal breaker for me.

2. It definitely shifts slightly to green. Flesh tones always have a very slight greenish tint to them. If I can figure out how to get rid of the buzz I will have it professionally calibrated to see if this is actually fixable.

I hope there is a way to get rid of the buzz, because otherwise this is a great buy for a really excellent picture.

Don't Buy Panasonic! Service is Terrible!!!
I bought the TCP50g20 50 inch Plasma and less than 2 months after purchasing the TV completely gave out. I called Panasonic and a very incompetent 3rd party (they asked ME for a screw driver - a repair person with no tools, that was a hint and a half for me) came out to fix the TV and they couldn't. They took the TV with them over 3 weeks ago to fix and don't have a estimated time when the TV will be fixed because Panasonic is back ordered on parts. They said it could be another 2-3 weeks before the part is available. They don't have any loaner TVs to give out. So after spending over 1k on this TV I am staring at my walls with no definite date on when I will get my TV back. I have called and complained several times to Panasonic and to the hired 3rd party but I just keep getting the run around. I have spent close to 15 hours on the phone with them(waiting, on hold, etc.) and no resolution in sight.

I read the reviews and did my research and thought this would be a good buy. WRONG! I got a lemon and what makes it so bad is that Panasonic is giving me the run around (politely of course) but I have no TV and no future date on when I am going to get it back. A Panasonic representative said that the TV is under warranty so they will fix it but they just can't say how long it will take. I have never bought something that was under warranty that took this long to be repaired.

So do yourself a favor and don't get a Panasonic TV. Never has a repair service been so bad!!!!

Amazing TV for an amazing price
**Disclaimer: As of this review date, I have only had the TV for a couple of weeks; so I could not really tell you about any issues that could develop (as with any TV) over time.

This television is perhaps the best I've ever seen in it's own right, but then combine that with the price that's being offered and you really have an unbeatable deal!

Picture quality is astounding, in that colors, blacks, whites, and grays are all accurately and sharply reproduced, and I really don't see how you can get a much better picture than this on any TV out there. Plus, you don't need to turn contrast and saturation up to "fake" a solid picture - put this baby on THX mode and you've got all the color and contrast you need in a picture that truly does match the intended output of the source material.

All sources I have tried look great - Blu-Ray is absolutely astonishing, upscaled DVDs really look like HD, and both standard and HD television look as great as they can.

If you are looking for the best possible picture for a very reasonable price, you need to get this.

I could give you a few minor nits (the remote isn't the most intuitive, for example), but if you're like me and what you care about most is your high-def picture, with minimal negatives, this comes highly recommended! I really wasn't expecting the quality to be THIS good when I bought it.

But don't just take the word on Amazon for it - do your research and see what the consensus is on this TV. That's what I did, and there isn't a reviewer out there who has given this less than a near-perfect review.

I'd also be happy to answer any questions...

Impressive so far...
Having only had this plasma for a short time, these are my initial thoughts. Setup is an absolute snap. You do not need a second person...just take the stand out first, assemble it, grab the TV with one hand on either side and drop it in place. The THX setting is far and away the best if you're a film buff like me. I still tweaked the setting slightly; for example, why is it set to Warm2 by default? If you are buying a plasma, chances are you've heard about burn-in issues. Let me just tell you these are real concerns. In the first hours it is very sensative to still images...right out of the box I watched a 2 hour film in 2.35:1, and I could already detect the black boxes with an all-black signal. It disappeared quickly after using the scrolling white bar and watching some 16x9 stuff...but just be careful. Uniformity of the display (especially in the blacks, without blotchy backlight bleeding from non-LED LCD's) is where this tv kicks serious butt, and it would be a shame screw it up right away. Last but not least, the build quality here is outstanding. A little thicker than most, but solid construction.

Customer Reviews

It's a good AV Receiver, but paired with the Harmony One Remote THERE ARE ISSUES
I like my AV Receiver, it works really well. I like having all of the video inputs on my receiver because it reduces the amount of visible cords running to my TV (I live in an apartment with my TV mounted on the wall, I didn't cut holes in the wall to run the cords). The video on my TV is outstanding, which leads me to believe that the video processing card on the Receiver is very good.
Over all I'm very satisfied with this purchase, my only critique is that I have a Harmony One remote and the remote has some issue with selecting the correct inputs, i.e. when you press the button on the remote to set up your activity, it may select the right one but it could very likely switch to a different input right after the correct input has been selected. I've had a lot of issues with this, even though I'm using the IR Harmony One Data Base for ALL of the commands (which is recommended by the software and my myself, I had more issues using the learn IR capability).
Other than it's compatibility with the Harmony One I have no negative remarks.

For your reference I've attached the Harmony One Remote link:
Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote with Color Touch Screen

More Bang for the Buck in One Great Receiver
I was looking to upgrade my 2-year old Pioneer Elite receiver and checking out the specs that would have cost me 00. Then I looked at the regular Pioneer line and found that I could get most of the same features for about 1/2 of the price with the Pioneer VSX-1020-K! Yes, I know the Elite model has slightly better specs and a better power supply--but at twice the cost???

Others have commented on the great features of this receiver (Internet radio, iPhone support, MCACC, 6 HDMI ports, etc.) But the amazing thing is that you can get all these features for not more than a standard receiver.

Installation was simple--connect your speakers and your peripherals and then use the microphone included setup and follow the GUI instructions.

Did I mention that the VSX-1020-K has great sound? The rated 110 w/channel provided booming sound in my room.

The other bonus is that this receiver offers HDMI 1.4 support in case you want to upgrade to 3-D TV. Although this feature is not really that important in and of itself, it shows how Pioneer wants to be on top of the technology curve.

Only down side is that the remote is not ergonomic and has about 50 small buttons that are hard to figure out in the dark.

Check out the Pioneer VSX-1020-K for yourself. On top of the basics, you'll find that it has more options that you can imagine. Pioneer is truly giving you a lot of receiver for a modest amount of cash.

Improves More Than Just Sound
I lean heavily on these reviews so I feel obligated to return the favor. There are plenty of reviews on here and other sites that tell you how great the features are (6 HDMI's,MCACC, iphone compatible, Zoning, etc) and how great the sound is, (it actually makes my entry level Sony's sound good). What I found to be the most surprising thing about this unit, the picture on my TV has improved, even my wife noticed it and she could care less about this stuff. TV is 1080i, which still gets a great picture, but the Pioneer has made it sharper and clearer, whether its cable or dvd. Even the Wii looks HDish now! Netflix thru the Wii gets up converted too. I love this thing. Pioneer made the best TV's, that race is over and they've moved on. These receivers are the next must have.

Phenominal
My setup is simple but this thing can handle soooooo much more than I need and it sounds amazing! Love the iOS app too, although the tilt controls are a little silly.

I'm using it with my old sony 'system-in-a-box' speakers and it sounds amazing, I never got this quality sound out of my old equipment. Can't wait to hook up some new speakers to this bad boy and get even better sound out.

The Internet Radio is kinda cool, although I'll probably never use it. This thing has so many inputs/outputs I feel sort of silly with my simple setup... Just XBox, Wii, Airport Express in and a single HDMI cable out to the TV.

Up-scaling the standard RCA video input is kind of nice too. Since I'm piping everything out with HDMI to the TV I get 1080 on everything and it looks pretty good.

Very happy that the menu system allows you to disable & rename all the different inputs. Makes things very easy to remember, especially using the iOS app since they show up that way on there as well.

The Mic provided for tuning was awesome. I've never heard a system sound so good, even with my crappy little speakers.

Very nice receiver.

HIGHLY recommend.

Good sound but could have save some money
I had the Pioneer VSX-1020-K for several weeks now. I purchased it based on the CNET review on the VSX-1019-K model. The sound quality is on par with my old Pioneer Elite unit. However, the radio reception on the VSX-1020 was really bad. I used the same antenna that was on my Elite unit but the signal was worse than a radio. Also the little flap hiding the USB port could have been better made. It was never flush with the face of the unit. The Elite flip out door was sturdier and better looking. The internet radio did not work as I expected. Many of the stations I get on my PC does not work with the URL only receive mode. I still have not found any new station to put into the receiver. I felt I could have saved 0 going with a unit without this feature. Other than that it has worked well so far. If you are serious about this machine, ask yourself if you'd really need the internet radio function. The feature may sound cool but it's not worth the extra bucks, especially if you have a Wi-Fi Blu Ray player that can get Pandora or other internet radio. Check out the VSX-1019 for under 0 before putting your money on the 1020.

Customer Reviews

Almost dead on arival
I purchased the I755 to use in a aircraft hanger to receive a specific station (WICN). As expected, I had to use a better antenna than the one supplied, after all the hanger was a metal building. The problem was that within a few hours of turning the radio on, it started to randomly change volume. At first I thought it was just the signal strength so I mounted the antenna higher. Then when the temperature went higher (yesterday it was 96F) the radio would randomly turn on and off with a pop each time. Unfortunately This effect was worst on the desired station. I will see what Cambridge Sound will do about this.

The good news is that when it does work the sound is excellent.

As a secondary issue, it is unfortunate that for the price of this unit, it does not include any ability to play music from a USB memory or any other removable memory other than an IPOD. I know they did not claim it did this but without some removable media capability (USB, SD CD or something) I don't think I would go this route again.

Great sound, not so great controls
I bought this radio for the sound quality I've experienced with other Cambridge SoundWorks devices. I was not disappointed. The radio is rather large, which drew some complaints from my wife when I put it on the bedside table. My biggest complaint is that the display is rather small and the control buttons even smaller. The layout of the control buttons also leaves something to be desired. It can be very difficult to operate in a dark bedroom and when trying to kill the alarm at 4:15 am before it wakes the wife. I realize the size is probably necessary for sound quality; however, the button layout could use a good redesign.

Great radio...great price!
I shopped around a bit and found this radio for my workshop. I really just wanted something to listen to radio and my iPod with, but the sound of this thing has exceeded my expectaions. I looked at other radios from Polk and Bose and was surprised at how little value you get from their products (cost/feature wise). Bose offered their wave 2 radio without ipod for 9. Thats more than double the cost this radio and it probably doesn't sound much,if any better!

Customer Reviews

Disappointed with Amazon!
I ordered a TN765T BRAND NEW and they send me a USED unit in a seal Box, I opened the Box and discover the unit has several marks for wear on plastic and finger prints on the screen, I am very disappointed with Amazon deal!

some question
it has some problems when i use this gps.i cant connect it with my cellphone.so i cant download sth. like weather.i cant use it to call sb. this products requires greater compatibility

GREAT GPS for the Money!
I will keep this brief. I have used Tom Toms, Garmin's and this was my first GPS from MOTO. For the price this is an excellent product. It synch's well with the Iphone. You can set it up for voice, so that you can speak directions. When an incoming call comes it tells you who is calling via its voice. So its says Sally is calling do you want to accept. It has free traffic alerts (accurate)I love this, it gives me immediate options to by pass or not.. and free weather, stock quotes, bing search. Awesome 3D Images. POI's are good also, and you can type in Italian restaurant and it will pull up all italian restaurants in the area (via the search through bing)

Issues I have with this item is the ease of use. There is so much, sometimes you have to spend time figuring out stuff. But maybe after a month or two I will be a pro- The screen is very sensative to touch, typing is sometimes a difficulty. It heats up very quickly.

I like it and recommend you try it. No GPS is perfect. But this give you some great features for the price. But if you just want something basic go with a garmin.

Advertising their own gps makes it useless
Love everything about it , except for 1 thing. Every 10 minutes just when you think --I'm going to love it, their own advertisement for the GPS comes up on screen
AND AFTER THE ADVERTISEMENT RUNS ITS COURSE, it has lost all memory of the program that was taking you where you wanted to go. SO, you pull over and put it in again, another 10 minutes and you hear the dreaded music that precedes the advertisement AND IT HAPPENS ALL OVER AGAIN. After 5 -6 times you get real tired of this and turn it off. I wasn't love after all, just a tease.

I think it could be a very good one from what I saw in the few minutes that I was able to get directions , they need to do something about it's attention span before you can rely on it.

Wanted something different.......
And this unit does fit the bill. Looks and sounds completely different from the Garmins I've had. I was looking at the new slim Garmin to replace the 750 I was passing down in the family, but after a couple of previews/reviews it just sounded like the same old same old. Which is fine, works great, but I just wanted something different.

This unit does that. Wide screen is a bit smaller vertically so you have to have it relatively close in comparison to other units, kind of like hdtv's, wider, but not so tall. Love the voice directions which sound different, give you audible alerts, just all around niftier. Routing so far is fine, though you need to cycle through fastest/shortest/mostly highways, etc. to see which one you prefer. Slower to acquire satellites than the Garmin. Display is packed full, colorful and bright, smooth updating, lots of options. Sound plenty loud for me.

Definitely not quite as easy to learn as a Garmin out of the box. But not bad, and more fun for us tinkerers. First unit had a broken power switch but Amazon's return policy had me a new one next day. A+++ So far I haven't had any other problems, and no features, or lack of, that I really don't like so far. It can be nit-picked but so can everything else.

This is a nice unit, has some teething problems but I like it. A keeper for me also.

Customer Reviews

Great buy - full value for money
I bought this speaker after a lot of thought on whether it will be worth the price. Especially after reading a few negative reviews about the product. But I still went ahead and ordered it... and I am very happy with its performance.

The sound clarity is very clear. The volume does not go very high, but even at max volume, the sound does not crack. The volume is good enough for enjoying movies and for some basic sound utilities. I would say - it is "good" for music but certainly not "great". You can listen to music with this speaker but if you are someone who enjoys the output of iPod, this one may disappoint you a bit.

The installation is a cakewalk. Just plug the device in the USB slot and its ready for use. The casing is a cloth cover. I would have been more happy with a hard case with some cushion inside. With this case, you have to be a little careful.

Overall its an amazing product and its worth every buck paid for!!!

just enough sound
the most outstanding feature is the spring clip on bracket to hold the unit to the top of the screen .no extra power supply or boxes to contend with .the short USB cable to hook it up is just long enough to cover any size screen you might have , Mine is on a 15" Toshiba Satellite the built in speakers lack volume and no semblance of quality sound . this little unit adds a good volume boost and a depth of sound from the highs thru upper bass levels to greatly enhance the sound . no these are not boom box quality but are well worth the money 32 $ .appearance is very attractive and professional looking. small enough to fit in any laptop case the carry case is keeping it scratch free. hook up and working is less than 40 seconds volume controls at top are very convenient. As usual LOGIC TECH delivers a good product reasonably priced and durable. I would recommend this to any body .

Better then expected
I just wanted to help increase the volume on my laptop as I watch movies. These speakers have VERY good sound quality, better then I expected for the price.

Great little speaker
This speaker boosts the volume and sound quality on my Dell laptop running Vista. You can't set the volume to blast you out of your room and it doesn't have the fancy sub-woofer stuff but that is not what we were looking for. It is compact, clips right onto your computer with a USB cable or you can set it next to you. No power cord which keeps your laptop portable. You plug it in and it just works. No settings to fool with, no program to load. The cord and speaker fit just right into the carrying pouch making it very portable and I don't have to worry about it getting damaged. These speakers can go anywhere with you. I thought the pricing was good. This product was just what I was looking for.

Works well
This is not loud, but it's a big improvement over the laptop speakers. The are small so they travel well. They sound alright. They are good at what they were meant to do.

Customer Reviews

Great upgrade from Intuous 4
I got my Cintiq 21UX and I had to say is a dream come true. I can draw on it like a canvas there is no limit and now with Photoshop CS-5 trying to compete against Paint 11 with their new set of brushes it make more easier to keep pushing your composition. So no back and forward, the quality of the product is amazing I really can't complaint. I only had it for 2 days so there is not much to add yet. I will keep upgrading my review if something goes bad, but I really doubt by the way no death pixel =D.

It's not worth 00 ...
I've owned several intuos ...and once bought the 12WX but later returned it because I felt it was still an experiment. But let me clarify ... the 12WX did perform almost like pencil on paper ...what I disliked was the ergonomics .... the wires and adapters ...was too much.

I am sure this product is better than the 12WX and think the admirable ratings for this product by the users who commented here are sincere. I don't own the the 21UX ...but have used it before ...it's good ...but NOT WORTH ,000 for what it does.

It's that simple ...it's ,000 because Wacom has the market cornered and he knows it. This guy (Wacom) must have some pitt-bull lawyers to have cornered this market the way he has ..because this is an area ...busting at the seams for exploitation and some real competition.

What is Steve Jobs waiting for to enter and take over this market?

Again ...this product is way over priced ...and they can do this even in recessionary times because there is no competition.

fantastic
I got a Wacom 21UX a few months ago. It is an all-around great product. As some people have mentioned the calibration is not the greatest, but it doesn't have that much effect. It's great to be able to draw right on the screen, the pen and tablet button shortcuts are really helpful, customer service is great - all around a good buy.

Almost lives up to the hype
I'm not really a tablet guy but finally decided to invest in something that'll let me draw digitally. I've tried using Intuous/etc. products before but never liked how I had to adapt my hand coordination to a cursor up on the screen -- very non-intuitive.

The Cintiq solves this problem quite well, I'm very happy with how it feels to draw on it and how accurately it works (with simple calibration). Next to my Apple Cinema 24" display, the Cintiq does not measure up at all in terms of screen quality. It's extremely dim in comparison (come on Wacom, if you're going to release a new version of k hardware then use an LED screen!).

I find the hardware menu system extremely confusing. Luckily I don't plan on using it much, as I can rely on the Apple monitor for color accuracy.

The button layout is definitely better than the old version. The pen continues to be a little too easy to accidentally push a button on while you draw, but this just takes a little time to adapt. Sensitivity is pretty nice, though I wish there was more of a curve control rather than a single number controlling sensitivity. I sometimes with I could make a light stroke with more ease, instead I kind of wrestle between having to push too-hard for heavy strokes and the other extreme.

The touch strip on the back is absolutely worthless. In photoshop I was trying to use it to zoom, and my zoom would just go all over the place. The program didn't respond to this kind of input well because the strip is basically just hooked up with a hotkey, so if you slide across it it basically floods Photoshop with ZOOM IN ZOOM IN ZOOM IN ZOOM OUT ZOOM IN. I'm baffled that they haven't worked out a better way to interface with the most popular application of this hardware...

The stand works well, though you can't really rotate "as designed" unless you lower it to almost horizontal (parallel with the table) position. I've opted to mount mine on an Ergotron LX arm instead, and this works TERRIFICALLY, I really recommend it.

The software they give you isn't too exciting, some of the included brushes are decent but I guess I expected a bit more for this much money. I look forward to the day when I can zoom and edit brush size with finger gestures and draw with the pen at the same time -- seems like the technology is already there for Wacom, they just need to put two and two together.

Overall, despite some design misfires, I think this is a great purchase for anyone who plans to do a significant amount of tablet work.

Natural feel...
The Cintiq 21ux is a great product. If you're like me and you don't like the feeling of having to draw on a tablet and look up at a screen to see the results. The Cintiqu 21ux is awesome. Being able to draw right on the screen allows me to work faster than ever. Overall great tablet. I recommend it over many of the other tablets. Of course it is quite spendy.
